Happy New Year, adventurers! I would like to offer you my best wishes for the coming year as we welcome 2026.

Once again, FFXI has enjoyed another year of adventure within the world of Vana'diel. I wish to thank each and every one of you out there for your continued support. On behalf of the entire FFXI team, please accept our utmost gratitude.

In my greetings last year, I mentioned two of our major goals for the game going forward: expand the options for playing the game solo, and revitalize existing game content while making adjustments to the character leveling process. In order to realize these goals, we have worked hard to deliver the following updates over this past year.

■ Content expansion and additions
We have made numerous changes to the in-game content in order to better align it with player engagement, such as changing Limbus from an occupied area to a shared area, adding a shared area to Dynamis – Divergence, and more.

■ Providing new chances to obtain older items
We are adding campaigns linked to the various seasonal events as a new way of obtaining items that were previously only available for a limited period of time. Also, I imagine you enjoyed the way we changed the items that dropped during the "Maiden of the Dusk" high-tier mission battlefield so that it's now easier to acquire the Malignance gear as a result.

■ Strengthening alter egos
Firstly, we've added multiple alter egos to the login campaign lineup in order to help you fill out your roster, and we've also made a revision to the number of points needed to acquire them. Now that a solid foundation has been laid, we will finally be moving to strengthen the alter egos themselves from this year forward.

We plan to continue working on these policies throughout 2026, so please check our updates regarding this topic for additional details.


As always, the development and operations teams will be working hard to provide you with even more content and activities in the year to come.

Announcing the Next Version Update (26/12/2025)

The next version update is scheduled for mid-January.

January brings with it the addition of points awarded for defeating notorious monsters in Limbus, and you will no longer lose experience points in the Dynamis – Divergence shared area.

Participate in Seasonal Events to Obtain a Keepsake Case! (25/12/2025)

There have been countless items added to the game over the years, including some that were available via limited-time events that are not scheduled to return or otherwise only featured limited opportunities to acquire them.

Therefore, we have decided to introduce this special opportunity on a trial basis to either make these items available again or provide an easier, limited-time method to obtain them.

This time, the featured item is the Keepsake Case.

The login campaign system was renewed in November 2025 with the following goals in mind.

■ Increase the appeal of login campaigns
- Provide a wider lineup of both fashionable and functional items
- Create an opportunity to easily reacquire items that were previously available
- Make it even easier to obtain certain alter egos

■ Return to a system that rewards regular logins

In order to realize these goals, we have implemented the following changes.

■ Change the amount of points needed for the exchange
It is now easier to obtain featured and other transformation items that were added in the past, starting with the older ones first. At the same time, a new environment that allows new items to be added has also been created.

■ Item lineup adjustments
The primary method for developing your characters and equipment is the same as it has always been—playing the in-game content. However, we will also be offering additional ways to obtain upgrade materials and other items.

■ Amount of login points received
In addition to changing the amount of points needed to exchange for items, we have also adjusted the amount of login points that can be received.

  Login 1 – 14
    Receive 50 points per day.
  Login 15
    Receive 500 points as a bonus.
  Login 16 onward
    Receive 100 points per day.

■ Amount of login points that can be carried over to the following month
Starting October 2025, you are able to carry over 700 points to the following month.

The December Version Update Has Landed! (10/12/2025)

As part of the third round of Limbus updates, we've added several new notorious monsters that are even more powerful than the ones that have appeared so far, and also some equipment based on the use of new materials.

In addition, we have made various adjustments to the Dynamis – Divergence shared area based on the feedback received from players, such as greatly reducing the amount of damage inflicted on monsters outside of the main target, and also changing the starting location of players who join during Wave 2.
